Source hierarchy
Use the issuing agency for measurements, definitions, published tables and restrictions. Preserve station identifiers, reference datums, units, covered periods and original source links. Separate a prediction from an observation and a preliminary report from an archive entry.
Original contribution
A resource should help the reader do something: interpret a chart, select a station, reproduce a calculation or follow a verification path. We avoid unsupported rankings, property-level inferences from county data and large volumes of near-identical location text.
Review status
AI-assisted guides are labeled. We do not fabricate authors, credentials or reviewer sign-offs. The current guides have source links and worked references, but independent human expert review is still pending. Sensitive decisions should be checked with the relevant official source.
Updates and corrections
Data updates do not silently rewrite guide text. Source snapshots and editorial changes are versioned separately. Material corrections should identify the old claim, corrected information, source and date. Scheduled source reviews are listed on the guides.
Visuals
Named-place images use credited photographs. Generated artwork is labeled as conceptual. Charts use source data and provide units. Photographs are not evidence of current conditions.
